Can you tell us about your background and how you came to be an artist?

– My introduction to clay was in secondary school where I felt an immediate pull to the material. A few classes in my adolescence and many years of uninstructed exploration later, ceramics has become my dearest pursuit.

What inspired you to create the artworks you have made for The Ode To?

– I am inspired by the expressions of people, plants and nature. Referenced with the curves of handles and warm colors of Spring. Each piece can hopefully bring a handmade whimsy and individual attitude to their forever homes.

What technique have you used?

– Every piece is hand built one of one using stoneware clay and finished with hand painted underglazes and glazes. I call them 'Moon face petals', my references for all things ceramics.

How would you describe your art and aesthetics in three words?

– Natural, peculiar, attentive.
