Malin Pierre started out within Production Design for Film and TV and has freelanced within that field for the past 13 years. However, after having kids Malin decided to go after her biggest passion - art and craftsmanship. She started with a basic year at art school and then got accepted to Konstfack (University of Arts, Crafts and Design) in Stockholm where she’s studying Ceramics and Glass.

The art of Malin Pierre is colourful and graphic and her pieces are part of an experimental journey to evolve and constantly try new things. She works with patterns, colors, and shapes that are often repeated into creating the final object. Her pieces are based on repetitions, building and stacking to create columns and spatialities.

In Malin Pierre’s pieces we see different types of materials that are pushed to new lengths and possibilities.

“I like working with different materials. I want to see how far I can take things. Be curious, have fun and try as much as possible are my catch words”.

For The Ode To, Malin Pierre has created a unique series of glass sculptures called “Swirling dots collection”. It’s a playful and experimental collection of mouth blown glass pieces that are delicately decorated with Malin’s favourite colours and patterns.
