In this mould I cast a wax object, which is then covered with a mixture of plaster and quartz. Once the mould has dried, the wax is steamed out, leaving a cavity. I then fill the mould with coloured pieces of glass, slowly and in several layers. The kiln is heated to 845°C, and the process takes a long time, often up to several months.
