Sini Villi's artwork features ribbon covered with natural fabric shaped into a unique wall sculpture. Inspired by Northern landscapes, the organic forms capture the rhythmic cycles of nature, blending softness with structured, flowing shapes.

About the artist

Sini Villi (b. 1980, Nivala) is a textile artist based in Helsinki, Finland. She creates three-dimensional wall sculptures using handmade ribbon. The ribbon flows organically, forming unique shapes that harden to retain their form.

Her work is inspired by the landscapes of Northern Ostrobothnia, where vast fields and rhythmic grooves emerge after autumn plowing. This cyclical nature, reflected in water ripples and tree rings, influences her art.

Villi, a 2004 graduate in clothing design, has 20 years of experience in fashion and interior textiles. She transitioned to textile art to explore the creative process more deeply. Her work is exhibited in galleries across Europe, including Helsinki, Tallinn, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Stockholm, and is part of notable art collections worldwide.
