Looking for a classic sculpture with a modern twist? Inspired by her surrounding Maria Lenskjold has created new sculptures in the series ‘Chick Checks’ for The Ode To. We adore the way she uses a bold yet natural colour palette and how she transforms everyday objects into unique and fine art. And this blue beauty is not an exception!
Playfulness is a constant in Maria Lenskjold’s artistry and ceramic artworks often lead the viewer to recognize an implicit function with the object, for example a vase, only to discover by closer inspection that it is merely an abstraction or a caricature of said object, meaning this artwork doesn't actually functions as a vase. The sculpture uses sgraffito technique where a pattern is created by revealing the material underneath.
Details: The image is an example of what this sculpture looks like, there are some variations between different sculptures. It's signed on the bottom by the artist. Please note that all handmade objects may have charming little imperfections and colour variations.
Danish and Copenhagen-based artist Maria Lenskjold graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Art in 2011, but has been making art since childhood. Growing up in a commune based in a big house with pink curtains and checkered green floors with purple walls, this whimsical play with colours and shape clearly left its mark. All orders use trackable and reliable shipping. You will get an email with the tracking number as soon as the order leaves the warehouse. When you buy multiple products, they may be delivered in multiple parcels depending on the order.

Some of our artworks are shipped straight from the artist to you. This is always clearly stated in the artwork description. The artist may need an extra day or two in order to process your order and pack it. You'll get a tracking code when the artwork is shipped.
Shipping from artists
Frames
Frames can only be purchased in Sweden due to high shipping costs. The print is mounted by a framing studio in Stockholm and takes an additional 5 work days for delivery. You’ll get an email with the tracking number for the delivery to the framing studio, but you’ll not be able to track the shipping of the framed print. The frame will be ready to put on your wall as soon as it arrives.
Returns
You can return your order within 14 days of receiving it for a full refund. All items should be returned in its original condition and packaging. Please note that you are responsible for the return back to us.
Framed prints and on demand prints cannot be returned since they are printed and/or mounted especially for you and can’t be reused after being returned. For more info read our full Return Policy.

All payments are done using SSL encryption preventing unauthorized access to card details. We offer the following payment options: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Klarna, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Swish, iDEAL and Bancontact.
