This is one of the unique glass sculptures in the series 'Waves', which is handmade by artist Helena Malm. The sculptures are made from waste material from the hotshop, so basically all the little broken scrapped glass pieces that otherwise couldn't be used. The glass is crushed and melted in a fusing kiln into puddle-like shapes, then slumped (melted) on metal to achieve the final wavy shapes.
This sculpture beautifully fuses transparent glass pieces with greenish and yellow speckles into a wavy glass piece.
Details: the artist has etched a signature on the bottom. Keep in mind that all handmade artworks can have charming little imperfections and show traces of the artist's handmade process.
Helena Malm is a print designer since 10+ years and is currently expanding her creativity by getting a BFA in ceramics and glass at Konstfack in Stockholm. Her artistry is signified by impeccable material studies and smashing colours. Read more in Helena Malm's artist portrait.
