Jenni Nuojua

Jenni Nuojua (b. 1983, Finland) is a ceramic artist and architect MSc based in Helsinki, Finland. Organic shapes with a repetitive carved surface define her unique handmade ceramic reliefs and sculptures.

Nuojua creates softly shaped ceramic pieces and studies the play of light on the carved contour-like surface. Her intuitive method of coiling and carving clay by hand is based on the material and ancient tradition. Her roots in the northern landscapes, Nuojua observes the connection between human and nature, making pieces that strive to embody the calming spirit of nature while often portraying something humane with empathy.
