Jennifer Hamming
What do you call your series of artworks?
– I named this series 'An Ode to Home' because I believe in the power of home as a personal sanctuary. My art aims to create a calming and soothing atmosphere, allowing you to relax and find inspiration.
What technique have you used?
– I mix my own acrylic colors on canvas. Sometimes I use a bit of molding paste for texture. The effect is geometric, but with an imperfect softness and depth.
What inspired you to create the artworks you have made for The Ode To?
– For this collection, I was inspired by the idea of home as a personal retreat. Our homes should be a reflection of who we are, our style, and our interests. Art is an important detail in making your home feel complete. I wanted to create a collection of paintings in warm, earthy colors and relaxing, interesting forms.
Can you tell us about your background and how you came to be an artist?
– Art has always been a part of my life. I have a BA in art history and a masters degree in art business. My career has been diverse, mostly art and design based. I started making paintings for my mother's home, then for our own walls. Later on, friends started asking for paintings. I now live in the countryside in the south of Sweden, finding inspiration in nature and the sea.
How would you describe your art and aesthetics in three words?
– Clean, warm, serene.
