What inspired you to create the artworks you have made for The Ode To?

– My inspiration for the artworks stems from my desire to deconstruct and reconstruct still life, capturing the essence of places through memory and imagination. Drawing inspiration from interior architecture, design, ceramics, and contemporary artists like Du Pasquier, Mainie Jellett, and William LaChance, I aim to create elaborate postcards that transport viewers to new realms of beauty and wonder.

Can you tell us about your background and how you came to be an artist?

– With a BA (hons) from University College Dublin, my artistic journey has been a lifelong passion. While I've been painting for as long as I can remember, it is only in the past year that I've truly dedicated myself to building a consolidated and consistent body of work. Largely self-taught, I've embraced the freedom and exploration that comes with forging my own artistic path.

How would you describe your art and aesthetics in three words?

– Playful, Experimental, and immersive.
